Jakob Schmid, the janitor who turned in the Scholls for distributing ant-Nazi pamphlets at LMU in 1943 later claimed at the denazification court that he had just turned the Scholls in because distributing flyers was technically prohibited, & claimed he had just "done his duty." He was sentenced to FIVE YEARS in a labor camp and stripped of his pension (later restored).
