ASKAP J174508.9-505149 is a spectroscopically confirmed accreting white dwarf binary also identified as a long-period radio transient, strengthening the link between these mysterious bursting sources and white dwarf star systems.

Very sad to see the news that the artist John Blanche has died. When I was working on my art A-level he kindly invited me to visit his studio at Games Workshop in Nottingham, generous with his time, knowledgeable and passionate about art. His miniature figures conversions were stunning and it was wonderful to see some of the paintings I knew so well from White Dwarf magazine in all their (surprisingly small) glory. He was disparaging about the illustrations he had done for Steve Jackson's Sorcery! gamebooks (hurriedly produced for little pay) but I loved them.

Speaking of D&D classes, and magazines, and specifically White Dwarf. In Issue 35, they presented a Necromancer class. Then in Issue 36, someone presented some follow up spell abilities for the class.

Eternal ponderings. D&D did not have perception as an ability score.

In my homebrew, I added perception.

Come to find out, such quandaries were happening since the beginning. In White Dwarf Magazine Issue 17 published February 1980, Barney Sloane proposed the same idea.
