#Water shipped into #Skerries with levels low

Prolonged periods with minimal #rainfall left the reservoir and storage tank levels low in Skerries, #Scottish Water said.

That has meant the company is having to ship a road tanker full of treated water into the #island up to five times a week from #Whalsay to maintain people’s #water supplies.

Scottish Water said this would “continue for the foreseeable future”.

Video shows otter and bird battle over breakfast

VIDEO footage has been captured of a battle over breakfast in #Whalsay, Shetland this morning (Friday) between an otter and a crow.

The amusing clip, taken by Ann Marie Anderson in #Symbister, shows an otter snacking on some food with the curious bird close by.
