I took a closer look at #AmneziaWG and I found that it's not really fully baked to install as a server the way I prefer, meaning, it's not yet supported by a wide array of easy VPN install scripts, the official docs warn it doesn't work on Debian 13, the installers that do support it are yammering on about Docker, and so forth.
fwiw it does look like #WgEasy will apparently support it from 15.2.0 onward.
anyway, I put a reminder in my to-do list to check the situation again in about 6 months. until then I'll continue using bare Wireguard. since I'm in USA I don't have a strong need for VPN obfuscation yet, the only place thus far that's blocked me for using Wireguard is the wifi at the supermarket.
I love how WireGuard Easy leads you through the install process, all in the web interface of TrueNAS, quickly and comfortably; and once it’s set up, it doesn’t let you log in because https is not set up. Excellent UX.

✅ Finally upgraded my two #WireGuard hosts to wg-easy v15 this morning.
I honestly thought this project was already feature-complete - but v15 proves otherwise!
🔐 Especially loving the new 2FA support for the web UI. Solid update all around.
