The West George Street facade of 163 Hope Street in Glasgow. It was designed by John A. Campbell and was built in 1902, and it's a stunning example of turn-of-the-century Glasgow architecture.

The verdigris-covered corner dome on the top of the exceedingly ornate Connall Building opposite Queen Street Station on West George Street in Glasgow. Constructed in 1898 for the iron merchant William Connall, it was designed by James Thomson.

Victorian townhouse on West George Street in Glasgow. Although it was built in the 1860s, its style is more Classical Georgian from the 1830s. This would have been in keeping with the surrounding buildings of the city's Georgian New Town which was constructed around Blythswood Hill from the early 1800s onwards.

Love this elaborately sculpted corbel below an oriel window on West George Street in Glasgow, especially the green men in profile at either end.

Red sandstone Edwardian commercial building on West George Street in central Glasgow. Built in 1902, it was designed by John A. Campbell. It's unusual in having a tower, topped by a cupola, not on the corner, but one bay in from it.

I love the grand entrances you get on Glasgow's late Victorian and Edwardian commercial buildings. This one on Fyfe Chambers on West George Street is a particularly fine example.
