#WordWeavers 12.10 — Who is your most chaotic character?

Let's be honest here... It's probably Hati. She's a chaotic mess and I absolutely love her for it. Her life is insane.

Another chaotic character, but it's meant in the worst possible way, would have to be Duncan. He's evil, animalistic, and a murderer.

#PennedPossibilities 869 — Choose one of your characters. Who has had the most influence or impact on their life?

I’ll discuss Alistair. It’s Isma, his maker, but it wasn’t a positive influence at all. It was purely traumatic. Secondly, it’s Fenella, and that’s in a positive way (for the most part). First love, only love, the one woman in the world he kept him sane, etc. He *still* loves her.

#WordWeavers 12.9 — Tell us about a romantic relationship a character has.

This a romance story. Alistair and Fenella were lovers years ago, then turned friends, and she left Scotland to travel. She's returned again, though. There's someone after her, and he can't quite figure out who it is. He *still* loves her. Unbeknownst to anyone, she still loves him as well.

This is a "Lovers to Friends to Lovers" tale.

Here's an excerpt from Chapter 1:

“Has Fenella been by?” asked Hati. “When was the last time you saw her?”

He chuckled ruefully, caught off guard by the words and glancing her way. His ancient eyes, stark features, and dark expression pinned her in place as he replied, “You know damn well she hasn’t come home.”

The moment stretched on, silence enveloping them. The words were caught in her throat for the look on his face. Seeing her friend, someone she cared a great deal for, in agony would never get any easier.

“You still love her,” she remarked, blatant as could be. “Don’t deny it, please. Just this once, you don’t have to lie. It’s just us. I’ve known for a long time. I naïvely assumed she would have visited you. I heard rumors that she was in the area. I’m sorry for bringing it all up again. My intention wasn’t to bring you any heartache.”

#WordWeavers 12.8 — Does your world have any weird laws, practices, or beliefs?

Oh, tons of them! This story takes place in Scotland during the Victorian era, so I'm sure you can imagine. Everything was rather "interesting" back then, and I do mean that in the worst possible way.

#PennedPossibilities 868 — Name one of your MC’s happiest memories?

For Alistair, it's quite simple. Curling up on the sofa with Fenella for a bit of reading. Or other things. They're fond memories of lazy nights. For Fenella, it's the same.

Here’s a tiny excerpt from the story:

In a huff, Fenella sat and ran her fingers over the fine fabric of a sofa that she knew all too well. Many nights they had spent here, wrapped up in one another. Alistair would read to her, his voice low and soft, and she would doze lightly, as comfortable as could be. Other nights, they would make love. It was frowned upon for vampires, but they enjoyed the intimacy, same as mortals. Now, though, it only served as a bitter reminder of the past.

For vampires, the term ‘lover’ meant far more than it did to mortals. It was companionship, the sharing of blood, and a steady being at your side. The lucky ones even found lifelong mates. Lovemaking wasn’t involved. Very few ever felt the urge.

His words came rushing back to her at that moment. ‘Why did you need to come here?’

#PennedPossibilities 867 — What does your MC smell like?

Medb has a distinct scent if you have the nose to catch it.

She smells like several wolves and a small murder of ravens. People only tend to notice when they're alone in a room with her.

It's vaaaaguely hinted at that this is related to why "Hound of the Morrigan" is one of her other names

#PennedPossibilities 867 — What does your MC smell like?

On any given day, it would be expensive cologne and hearth smoke. I imagine scents that feel full, deep, and made with high-quality materials like oud, jasmine, and pine or evergreen-like notes (to match the oud). In my mind, he smells really good. But there’s also that tiny hint of death as well. Hati talks about it in the story.

“Fang’d” by Vin George.

Charley is on the run from the biker gang he works for because they think he killed one of their members. When Charley runs across a country lane trying to escape his pursuers, he’s nearly run over by Luc. The slightly older Luc is instantly attracted to Charley, so he offers to help. The two end up on a road trip, taking them to unexpected places, both metaphorically and physically.

“Fang’d” definitely hooks you in from the very start with the dramatic meeting between the two main characters and the urgency of being on the run. It keeps you reading once the characters begin learning about each other. In Charley’s case, he’s also learning some things about himself that radically changes his worldview.

#WordWeavers 12.7 — What bad habits does your MC have?

Too many. Alistair has a lot of bad ideas (but then again, so does Fenella).

• Withdrawing and shutting down emotionally whenever something goes wrong instead of communicating openly.
• Difficulty concentrating or making (the right) decisions when he's stressed.
• Avoiding people, places, or situations whenever he's stressed.
• Irritability and snapping at others when he's far too overwhelmed.

There are so many others, obviously.

#WordWeavers 12.6 — What kind of food does your antagonist prefer?

The kind that runs or begs for mercy. You could call it "fast food," if you like.

(For context, he's a vampire. In fact, both of the antagonists are.)
