If you are coming from #Twitter remember that over here on #Mastodon there is no algorithm which pushes the visibility of your #Toots / Posts to other users. The only way to increase the visibility of a post is to #Boost by hitting the Boost button. You can also „star“ a post but that’s just a number and you can find your favorited/starred posts in your profile, but those will NOT increase visibility. #NewHere #TwitterExodus #WelcomeAll

However writing a bit about yourself in your bio and at least choosing a profile picture will make people more interested in your account, and help you find people of similar interest.
