Souvent la petite fille contemple ce visage
étranger,
dans un miroir, dissimulé sous le lit à rouleau,
étrange
portrait mouvant

là-haut, constellation de fils dorés
là-bas, caveaux de peau
lorsque le nez se fronce
dentelle des tâches de rousseur

et le plus affreux
les lèvres blanches, tendues, contractées
en un rond
"oh"

un air de joconde
comme un semblant d'éternité,
dans une face de huit ans.
