My weight loss medicine is finally ready. I have a little anxiety about it, but they did prescribe the smallest dose.
I have long said that my main worry about GLP-1s has been the unknowns about long-term side effects, but the positives seem to outweigh the negatives. Doc wants to get some weight off of these eroding joints. They also told me exactly how to navigate the side effects.
If you also choose to go on a GLP-1, I recommend researching how the drug works, what the side effects are, and how to manage them, and how long you are willing to stay on the drug (since a lot of people regain the weight once they stop).
This drug was designed to help diabetics, and can be a godsend for stabilizing one's A1C. If you're pre-diabetic, apparently this could really help you. My A1C was fine, but they will still monitor it.
So, here goes.
Why does this feel like bungy jumping off a bridge? I guess it's the idea of something so new to me.
