Rather happy with this week's WeeklyBeat. It has that "I'm flying on a cushion of clouds" feel that only this certain type of mellow drum and bass can give you.

It is still a weekly beat and could do with some extra work in terms of arrangement and mix, but it works already as intended, I think.

In Spite of The World

Definitely more mellow than last week's entry. Happy with the result, even though this was a rather quick one. Could do with a bit more variation in a final mix outside of WB. All in all, nice little row of different DnB genres and eras this month. Let's see what the next month brings. Happy to listen to something else than sped up breaks for a change. Since this also has a bit of a latin flavour, I couldn't resist following the latest brazil funk trend and release a (SLOWED) version as well. Enjoy some slow crunchy breaks drowning in sorrow and caipirinha.

Five Sided Dice

After the last few weeks had me somehow struggling with audio and mastering quality, I decided to go back to what felt safe and simple. Figured out that the microphone had set itself to auto gain mode. Once that was re-set everything felt a lot smoother already. Tonally, I'm in C Minor Pentatonic this week, not a lot of material to choose from so not a lot to do wrong either. I noticed that Sunday was the day of the Piano (according to the website time.is), so I incorporated some piano sounds in almost all tracks. Have fun › Lyrics‹ LyricsDon't give up, play the game!

Can't believe I've already made it 1/4 through the #WeeklyBeats2026 year.

It feels somewhat sustainable but not always easy, to be honest. I think my idea to have a fixed time slot during the week works (Unless there's protests to attend to, that is, like today) quite well for me, but it doesn't always work out perfectly. Sometimes you just need a break.

I am still not sure about the genre blocks I am currently trying (I just finished my last Drum&Bass tune for this cycle). We'll see.

Weeks 11 and 12 of WeeklyBeats - I guess I forgot to share last week? 'Crossworld Puzzles' and 'The National Apple Congress of 1883' are I guess both different angles on noisy (not in the sense of aggro) downbeat grooves. These last 3 have been the most "beats" beats so far.

If you want to hear what I can do in just a couple of hours each, give them a listen?

The track isn't sure itself in the beginning, but it's worth repeating, and eventually, with work and persistence, it will become true.

Alright, let's do this. I sing. I am nervous about what y'all might think about this. I poured a lot into this. Partially mantra, partially pushing myself beyond my limits. That being said, it came to

Holy moly this Weekly Beat is an absolute pain to finalise. I'm trying to make this sound good on a wide variety of speakers and headphones and I can't can any of those to agree on anything.

I did this to myself, of course, it's a wicked combination of sounds, all in a similar spectrum.

At least I am *somewhat* used to hearing myself sing by now but it's still scaring the heck out of me.

Week 10 of WeeklyBeats, here's a shuffly downtempo groove that reminds me some of Afrobeat and a little of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters.

Free to listen to and/or download.

Plenty of process notes on my blog as usual, if you make music yourself and want to know what I did.

This week's beat was a bit of a weird experience. On one hand I am extremely proud of having made this largely from scratch including the reese and the breakbeats.

On the other hand, this track did not want to get done. Not at all, it was resisting at all fronts - I couldn't get the arrangement right, the mix was super challenging and I am still not super happy with the mixdown.

It is what it is, I guess.

Concluding my Ambient-Adjacent March (with the notable exception of last week's drill thing) with this droney breakbeat meditation. Partially Boards, FSOL, hey, I am what I am because of my electronic music intake in the 90's)

I was planning on doing a bit of music during a short vacation but somehow that didn't pan out as planned. I did sketch out the basic idea on my way home in the train and then it took me another 1 1/2

Week 9 of WeeklyBeats, here's a murky, icy-cold techno track. Lots of process notes on my blog, mostly not #Bitwig specific.
