Il 31 maggio torna la Giornata Mondiale del Web Designer, una ricorrenza giovane ma ormai imprescindibile per celebrare chi dà forma – con creatività, codice e intuizione – all’esperienza digitale che viviamo ogni giorno. Il 2026 porta con sé un’energia nuova, segnata da tre tendenze che stanno ridefinendo il lavoro dei web designer:

• Design etico e accessibile — Cresce l’attenzione verso siti realmente inclusivi: contrasto ottimizzato, navigazione semplificata, micro-animazioni non invasive e contenuti fruibili anche in modalità low‑vision o con assistive technologies.
• AI come co‑designer, non sostituto — Gli strumenti di intelligenza artificiale diventano parte del workflow quotidiano: generano wireframe, suggeriscono palette, testano l’usabilità. Ma la direzione creativa resta saldamente nelle mani del designer umano.
• Esperienze multisensoriali — Con l’espansione del web immersivo, il 2026 vede l’arrivo di micro‑interazioni sonore, texture digitali e layout fluidi pensati per adattarsi a schermi pieghevoli e superfici interattive.

Perché celebrarlo

Il Web Designer Day 2026 è un invito a riconoscere il valore di chi trasforma idee in esperienze, di chi rende il web più bello, più umano e più navigabile. Una giornata per dire grazie a chi, dietro le quinte, costruisce ogni clic.

#introduction
Hi this is Cookie! I have worked as a technician in various art studios and #makerspaces for the past ten years. For longer than that I have made art and music. I have also done a lot of work in #ArtEducation including performative workshops. I run an Open Source #ComputerClub at u of toronto.

Currently I am working on a #webart project called “Exodus Big Techius: Root to leaving Google/Apple/Microsoft for the Collective Open Source”. My other current focus is prepping for #OHS2026 where I will be exhibiting a sound #sculpture and a new art book.

For fun, I'm very into #knitting and am a member of the local spinner and weavers guild. I love hiking and native pollinator gardening. I am planning to learn #bikepacking and the bass clarinet this summer. I love anachronisms, synchronicities, and #esoterica. I wonder about becoming a shepherd or lighthouse keeper.
