Quick WCAG win for small sites: add alt text to every image, use heading hierarchy (h1 > h2 > h3), and check color contrast ratio (4.5:1 minimum). These three fixes alone cover most accessibility audit failures.

Semantics question. My page has a 'main' area and an 'aside' (sidebar). Does the sidebar content need to follow the main's heading hierarchy, e.g. start at h2 if the main page has a h1, or is it a separate context? Does any h1-h6 tag make sense in an aside? Thanks.

A blind person should be able to file a business independently.
Today, something that should have taken about 20 minutes took more than 2.5 hours because the website was hard to use with a screen reader.
What stood out most to me was how ordinary the task was. Filing a business is a basic workflow, and it still broke down in ways that made it much harder than it should have been.
I wrote more about it here:

The European Accessibility Act is fully enforced -- all 27 EU member states, live now, fines up to 100k euros or 4% revenue.

The EAA doesn't frame accessibility as charity. It frames it as a consumer right. That's the shift we've been waiting for.
