Wealth taxes in Europe: Who collects them and how much do they raise?

Wealth inequality is evident worldwide, including in Europe. The wealthiest 5% of the population in the eurozone control 45% of net household wealth, while the top 10% holds 57.4%.

Several European countries have repealed wealth taxes in recent decades. Only three still impose a tax on individual net wealth, while a few others levy taxes only on selected assets.

My prescription for civic renewal/redemption of the US government, if we can ever dislodge the GOP:

1. Expand #SCOTUS to 13 seats to match the number of federal districts. Marginalize the corrupt right-wing nutbags.
2. New #VotingRights Act, mandating nationwide nonpartisan redistricting if possible. Maybe require prior approval of changes in all states.
3. Divert all those ICE funds to a new, beefed up #antitrust division devoted to a new wave of trust-busting (like Lina Khan, but 100x). Pay particular attention to media consolidation.
4. #WealthTax. Tax oligarchs out of existence. If some of them leave the country, we're better off.
5. Comprehensive #immigration reform, coupled with extreme staffing up of immigration courts to work through the backlog.
