As the last the of the high country snow melts off, the San Juans are aswarm with countless temporary waterfalls like this one I captured along South Mineral Creek in June of 2017.

"Meeting of the Elements" for #WaterfallWednesday (special #Pride2026 edition!)

A double rainbow appears in the spray at the base of Vernal Fall in Yosemite National Park — where the elements come together so nicely and impressively. I made this photo on the aptly named Mist Trail, and depending on the wind, the soaking that one gets from the spray can be quite intense! We were glad that we brought our rain jackets. :)
