#KellysHeroes was made the same year as #MASH (1970) & is one of a number of #WarMovies made during the #VietnamWar with an irreverence & #AntiEstablishment sentiment which I believe grew out of the growing public opposition against that war at that time.

The #DirtyDozen (1967) is another one.

I just watched "The Americanization of Emily" (Warner Bros., 1964) with James Garner, Julie Andrews, and James Coburn. Set just before, during, and right after D-Day, it's an irreverent comedy whose naval antihero, played by Garner, is a proud coward.

🎬Ministry of Fear (1944), directed by Fritz Lang, is a classic wartime noir starring Ray Milland as a man who stumbles into a deadly web of mystery after a chance visit to a fair.
