The type of Gundam show many are perhaps most likely to assume are the worst at standing on their own are OYW side stories, however that would be incorrect.

OYW side stories are a lot more like what fiction set in real historical wars are like, no one's favorite WW2 movie is one that attempts to tell the story of the entire War.

Likewise stories like War in The Pocket, 08th MS Team and the first Thunderbolt movie stand on their own phenomenally well. If anything it's the original Gundam show that oddly feels like an incomplete piece of a larger story.

I've built the experimental version of the Z'Gok as shown in War in the Pocket! I used a mix of masking tape and, for the first time, Silly Putty, for making his Arctic marine camouflage. His segmented arms and legs were a bit of a pain, but otherwise I'm pretty damn satisfied with this build.

Got some Tamiya Weathering Master powder, promptly inhaled some while applying some to the top of my GM Cold Districts Type lol its subtle but I like it.

I can't show pics yet, as I am awaiting repairs for my phone screen, but I recently used a GM Cold Districts Type to try out doing camouflage on a Gunpla. It was fun 🙂 I was going for Arctic military base themed camo, but I got conflicting advice as to whether I should paint dark to light or light to dark, so I did the latter and he ended up more dark than I intended. Oh well, he can guard the submarine harbor entrances instead of patrolling out on the snowy fields surrounding it.

I'm almost done with my RG Tallgeese, so over the weekend I got Lfrith Thorn from The Witch from Mercury, and the GM Cold Districts Type from War in the Pocket. Surprisingly, I'm looking forward to the GM more lol I love War in the Pocket and the humble GMs.

Overall, the build on this was pretty straightforward. The knees are a little sketchy without screws, but that should fix itself when final assembly happens. Gnarly seam lines on the shoulder and thigh armor, though...nothing a little Tamyia Extra Thin can't fix.
