Ōndō/Gliesans are my favourite Djindak Koorliny aliens to draw. Especially doing the fur is a nice meditative process. Golden with flecks of tan and chocolate brown.

I'm pretty sure the visual DNA for Gliesans is 49% Teddy Bear, 49% Highland Cow and 2% Antenna (because you know, alien).

I still haven't figured what that antenna actually does though. 😂

Ōndō is the indigenous name of the race. Gliesan is the Terran designation for people of Gliese 186-f, the homeworld. Either is fine in common parlance but Ōndō is increasingly preferred in the 25th Century. The Ōndō/Gliesans are fully fledged members of the Stellar Federation, having joined in the late 22nd Century.

Qoxoxolō is Belmont born and bred—and if you’re from around here, you’ve probably benefited from their handiwork.

Take a ride on the 935 hoverbus through Signal Hill and feel the jarrah branches whisper against the windows—those trees were planted by their grandparents. They were there too, a small fuzzy tot learning to pat soil around rootballs with reverence and mischief.

Visit the Belmont Video Game Museum and behold the high score in Street Fighter Alpha—"Q.X." sits comfortably at the top, using Dan Hibiki, no less. Nobody’s beaten it since 2345.

Wondering why the Belmont Bombers Oval has an absurd 80-metre arc painted on the turf? It’s not official—just a community in-joke. Qoxoxolō’s footy kicks made the 50m line feel… cramped.

And if your peaceful Faulkner Park picnic was ever photobombed by a troop of Oblong Turtles wearing coordinated scarves, they might’ve been involved. 😝

Their name, Qoxoxolō, comes from Izamqiri, a Centaurian language, spoken by their Life-bearer. It evokes the gentle rhythm of waves lapping against the shores of the Darbal Yerigan (Swan River), where they were born and where they continue to serve.

Lately I've been doing a minor redesign of the Zarmashans/Greys in my space opera and I'm leaning towards the amphibious direction, giving them subtle flourishes like gills, small fin flaps, upper chest ports and webbing in their hands and feet.

I'm imagining promotional posters for classes of said meditation with slogans such as, "ACTIVATE YOUR GILLS!" and "TIGHTEN YOUR CHEST PORTS!" 😂

Just thought I'd share a small but personally significant milestone in my recovery. I've been getting back into my art, now that I'm back home and can sit up more comfortably for longer periods of time. It's easier to draw, especially not being hooked up to IVs and machines. I came across this picture of Caitlin Clark with a very interesting "Che schifo!/Disgusting!" expression on her face and thought I try replicating it. Apparently it was a reaction to a call in a game.

I don't think I could quite capture it but still I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. 😊 Of course, my obsession with aliens means she was turned into one. 🤣
