The white wagtail is my harbinger of spring. I’ve been hearing and watching it for a few weeks now, and today I spotted it on the roof. In German it’s called a ‘Bachstelze’, which is why I often refer to it here as a ‘Dachstelze’, as it frequently runs and bobs along the ridges of roofs.

I had to edit the photo a bit because it was taken against the morning sun behind the high fog.

All right #content people, where do you get images for your content these days? We've experimented with #AI art. But we've found open source images with a snazzy filter (like the image for this blog: https://wagtail.org/blog/gsoc-2021-wrapup/) work just as well.

Can there be a #ResponsibleAI approach to generating art? If not, how do you source your art?

Sometimes you find really cool stuff when you're cleaning up your #CMS. This is a draft post labeled "Wagtail Space Progress Report". Beautiful photo! Erm, the copy could use some work though...

We're seeing AI getting shoved thoughtlessly into software without people taking time to think about whether it's actually helping people. We think part of #ResponsibleAI is giving people the option to use as much or as little AI as they want to.

What do you think? Is #ResponsibleAI possible? If so, what do you think it should look like?

This blog post sums up our approach pretty well if you want to check it out: https://wagtail.org/blog/ai-in-the-cms-steering-the-ecosystem/

Soooooooo, the DjangoCon US CFP closes on my birthday! 🎂 Maybe I'll wear this party crown when I submit my proposal today. You should submit one too! It's not cash or flowers, but it's still an acceptable birthday gift in my book. 🎁

Looking back on our first blog post today. An issues queue in the double digits and only 9 PRs? 😂 We've definitely come a long way!
