>>Oklahomans who fail to select a party affiliation would not become registered voters under a bill heading to the Senate despite concerns that it will disenfranchise thousands of voters without their knowledge.
House Bill 3722, authored by Rep. Denise Crosswhite Hader, R-Piedmont, would make selecting a party affiliation or independent designation a requirement to complete voter registration. Currently, voters who do not select one of those are automatically registered as independent.
Calling it an “election integrity” bill, Crosswhite Hader said she doesn’t think these thousands of voters intended to be registered as independents. The state shouldn’t “assume” their intent, she said.<<

A federal voting bill moving through Congress would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections. While supporters call it an election security measure, critics warn the requirements could create new obstacles for some voters and minority communities.

Hey, reps and senators in Congress: If you're going to #impeach someone to "make sure they never hold public office again," maybe go for her boss.
And if the new president doesn't follow his oath to the #Constitution, which would require firing the entire cabinet and following #USA #law, then impeach him too.
To the eligible voters: Your job is to hold your reps and senators accountable to the Constitution. Check your #VoterRegistration. Then GO #VOTE.

The office of the Attorney General doesn't have an official "oversight" role for elections but, under the Civil Rights Act of 1960 (designed to make sure black people weren't being discriminated against), that office can demand voter registration records regarding an election within 22 months of it taking place—the period defined by when the person holding those records can destroy them.
See attached image in my reply to this post. The yellow highlight shows the pertinent section.
Note that the part highlighted in green means that the Attorney General or representative *must* go to the place where the records are held to access them; this would preclude sending them via e-mail, for example.
