One of my other rules is that if a show counts, later installments count too (DBS only plays late at night and later yugioh spinoffs weren't on the channel at all but they both are elligible). And if I stretch that rule, I could put Voltron: Legendary Defender on it.
I remember seeing a few episodes of Voltron Defender of the Universe as a kid. I remember liking it but hard to remember why.
So, I started up episode 1 of Voltron, original air date 1984.
And it is pretty dark for a children's cartoon. Entire surface of a planet destroyed. Main characters captured as slaves. Multiple slaves killed in an arena. A pile of bones picked through by Vulture like birds.
@venkats Have you tried the rollercoaster, #voltron #voltronnevera?
It's the same as with beer: The last one (beer or ride) was too much.
We did three rounds with #voltron and went to the #voletarium afterwards. That gave us the rest.
Voltron’s original run was only 52 episodes, but syndicated daily — which made it feel massive in the 80s.
We also touch on the excellent Netflix reboot and the now-lost Xbox Arcade Voltron game.
