Tim Stüttgen: "Instead of rushing through the decision to spend €3.5 million on converting it into an intersection, we should use the coming years, during which the Bridge will be renovated, to test different traffic routing options. The Mühlentorteller is unsuitable as part of a diversion route during the renovation of Berliner Platz anyway."

#Volt MEP Kai Tegethoff quoted in taz
The EU Commission plans to expand a European high-speed rail network from Tallinn to Lisbon by 2040 in order to encourage travellers to switch from flying to the more climate-friendly railways – financed by €550 billion with support from the European Investment Bank, whereby Kai Tegethoff (Volt) emphasises that this is not about privatisation, but about green bonds based on the Spanish model.
A majority in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany and Spain support the plan, as the current 27 national armies are too fragmented to act effectively. Europe should take over NATO leadership, create joint command structures and become militarily independent in order to prevent wars and remain capable of acting globally.
