I started using my IPad again, it feels pretty great. Only thing is, I sometimes have to convince my IPad that I’m inside of an edit box and I’m not trying to do commands. For example, if I am typing something and I hit the letter A for example, it thinks I’m trying to turn on Type to Siri when I am not trying to do that in the slightest. I'm fascinated to learn that some #VoiceOver users don't get that "busy busy" issue. I'm wondering how that's possible? Were so many of us just somehow misconfigured all along? If so, what makes the difference? #accessibility #MacOS

Hot #screenReader take: I'll take #VoiceOver's "busy busy busy" over #NVDAsr's "oh god, too much text, baiiii!" any day. Absolutely not just NVDA's fault, bit of a product of NVDA + Python + Windows APIs + no doubt a bunch of other things but if I get a "whatever you're trying to do, stop it and return to nominal" button for NVDA for 2026.2 that alone would make me update in an instant. Particularly working with large amount of commandline input is a disaster with this problem occurring practically every few minutes, but other random things, like landing on a window that's hanging or not responding, will do it as well, and if it's the 20th time on a day it can get pretty aggression-inducing.

OMG these #Piper #tts voices are horrible in French with #VoiceOver. Moreover, there seems to be a major encoding issue because accented letters are very poorly pronounced.
