Dear bird listeners,
We are delighted to invite you to the seventh VOGELKLANG-SOUNDCAMP in the Black Forest from 4 to 5 May 2024. On the grounds of the Stöcklewald (Furtwangen/ St.Georgen/ Triberg), we will once again explore the behaviour and habitat of our feathered friends in a creative exchange. With art installations, performances, artistic or scientific lectures and workshops for young and old, we want to offer the opportunity to discover this multifaceted topic together.
The original inspiration for the VOGELKLANG-SOUNDCAMP came from wildlife expert and broadcaster Chris Baines and his International Dawn Chorus Day, which was launched back in the 1980s. On the first Sunday morning in May, various temporary sound camps around the world join together to create a global symphony of birdsong. The co-operation of all the sound camps creates a 24-hour live stream of continuous morning twittering, in which the VOGELKLANG-SOUNDCAMP in the Black Forest also takes part. A global phenomenon will be brought to life as the sun rises: the morning song of birds.
In addition to the 24-hour bird concert collectively produced by the sound camps, the VOGELKLANG-SOUNDCAMP in the Black Forest will also feature a cross-media festival programme on site. The programme includes workshops, lectures, installations, performances, etc. - much of it interactive and hands-on.
