I was trying to listen to an audiobook using VLC. The MP3 files contained a mono track, and VLC was playing it through only one headphone.

I found out it was caused by the selected output module. To fix it, I opened Settings → Tools → Preferences → Audio and switched the output module from PipeWire to PulseAudio.

@cell It's my new "everything just plays" player. #VLC doesn't, even though that's still what it is known for with many people. So, thanks from me as well, for making it simple and for some unusual decisions.

The #giraffe statues in Greenside, #Edinburgh, are once again wearing traffic-cone-like hats, as per (originally #Glasgow) tradition. They seem maybe “official decorations” rather than cones placed by the citizenry, but the swirly patterns do rather resemble the #SNP logo and the flag of #Scotland… 🤔

Lately I’ve been having the same problem across different #radio apps, at different scales: buffering.
Certain stations get stuck very often and it’s extremely distracting and annoying.

However, good old #VLC starts playing them almost instantly!
Sadly, the UI is ugly as sin (even with skins) and it lacks some key features to be a full replacement.

I wonder how difficult would it be to write my own player with radio-browser.info and libVLC in the backend 🤔

Ich hab ein Problem mit dem #FunFacts #RSS #Feed. Leider ist mein #PodcastAddict damit überfordert. Weder beim Streamen noch nach vollständigen Download kann ich im Video vor und zurück springen. Das wäre noch tolerierbar, aber manchmal bricht das Abspielen einfach ab oder springt immer wieder an den Anfang. Mit #VLC oder der #PeerTube-App funktionieren die Videos zwar, aber alle anderen Player haben Probleme. Hilfe!? @funfacts_de @podcastaddict
