Update: See thread for origional topic. I have a lesson set up with a western flute instructor who, even though she doesn't have a lot of knowledge about the Bansuri, she's willing to do some research for me to help me confirm hand placement and flute angle. I have also, thanks to a friend of mine, connected with someone from India who is also
#Blind and a self-taught
#Musician who has given me permission to pick her brain when necessary. A lot of the rest will come with time. Thankfully, with there being so many videos out there and my ability to play by ear, I have plenty of options to learn new material. I'll be placing an order soon for a G bass from Labu Flutes and later switch to a larger flute, which I will happily pay the higher price at this point to get made custom. Anubodh, though expensive, has communicated with me in both a timely and informative fashion regarding what he can customize for me and what exactly each customization will do. Would I like to find a good teacher from which to learn? Absolutely. But at least I'm no longer feeling stuck and/or caged by a lack of options. The number of boosts I've received has been amazing. Thanks, guys. Boosts are still welcome.
