Mock strawberry

(Potentilla indica, formerly Duchesnea indica), also called Indian strawberry.
The image I took and edited has a beautiful color contrast: the muted blue-green foliage makes the single scarlet fruit stand out almost like a tiny lantern hidden in the undergrowth. It has a very quiet, observational feel. A nice find for a walk.

A solitary heron rests on a rooftop, still as stone, gazing toward towering scaffolding and fence. . Behind it, the skyline rearranges itself. The bird is small against the geometry of progress, yet refuses to leave. It simply watches, holding its ground in an environment grown hostile. The composition is deliberate: nature at the margin.
