Given all the sights to see across the city, I really don't unserstand why Glasgow doesn't have a full marathon any more (the last one was run in 1988) as many smaller towns and cities manage to have one. Maybe next year's Commonwealth Games could provide the perfect platform to re-launch the Glasgow Marathon.

I love running around Glasgow as you see many different sights. Today's run included red sandstone tenements looking amazing in the sunshine, tar or bitumen melting in the heat, a roe deer swimming across the Forth and Clyde Canal, bridges over the Clyde, some beautifully painted murals and right at the end the P/S Waverley heading doon the watter.

An 1840s municipal building on Wilson Street in Glasgow built with a hexastyle portico inspired by ancient Greek temples. In other cities, this would probably be a must-see building for visitors, but in Glasgow it struggles to make it into the top 50. To be honest, it barely even makes it into the top ten buildings in the city based on Classical Greek Temples!
