We found that cellular junction integrity and mucin do not exert morphology-dependent inhibition of IAV cell-to-cell spread. On the other hand, filamentous #virions confer an advantage under the #pressure exerted by neutralizing #antibodies against #hemagglutinin.

Influenza virus transcription and progeny production are poorly correlated in single cells

Quantification of both viral transcription and progeny production from single influenza-infected cells shows that the cells that produce the most viral RNA often do not produce the most virions.

@hfentonmudd @ranil 3.5 years, 2.25 infections & 6 vaccines later I’m still waiting for that sweet sweet #hybridimmunity to kick in😂

However JUST expose yourself to it 24/7 you’ll basically be constantly infected, so I guess that’s hybrid immunity? But when a more mutated variant comes along, you’ll show symptoms again meanwhile b/c of #viralPersistence you’ll be spreading your #virions like cookie crumbs wherever you go🍪🦠🍪🦠🍪🍪yay🙄
