Ended Thursday and welcomed Friday after a walk with Vince Guaraldi, Bola Sete and Friends (stylized as Vince Guaraldi \ Bola Sete \ and Friends) is a collaboration between pianist Vince Guaraldi and guitarist Bola Sete released in January 1964 by Fantasy Records. It was Guaraldi's fourth studio album and the first of three studio collaborations with Sete.
Guaraldi historian and author Derrick Bang offered equal praise, stating that Guaraldi and Sete represented "the perfect musical marriage," adding that Vince Guaraldi, Bola Sete and Friends is "most consistent" of their three album collaborations.
Cashbox cited the album as a Jazz Pick: "Here's a delightful musical marriage spotlighting the distinctive musical talents of Bola Sete and Vince Guaraldi ... The two jazzmen compliment each other as they turn in superlative renditions of 'Days of Wine and Roses,' 'Star Song' and 'Moon Rays.' - Wikipedia

Ended Wednesday and welcomed Thursday after a swim with Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus a 1962 album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi (credited to the Vince Guaraldi Trio). Initially intended as a jazz response to the 1959 film Black Orpheus, the album is best known for including the original composition "Cast Your Fate to the Wind", which became a surprise commercial hit and won Guaraldi a Grammy Award for Best Original Jazz Composition.
Contemporary reviews were favorable. A 1962 Billboard feature noted that Guaraldi and his trio presented the Black Orpheus themes with "sensitivity and style," and singled out "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" for its distinctiveness.
Cashbox also praised the trio's interpretation of the film score, describing the music as having "exceptional merit" and noting the trio's rhythmic vitality. - Wikipedia

Ended the weekend and welcomed the week after a walk with A Flower Is a Lovesome Thing the second studio album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi (credited to the Vince Guaraldi Trio), released in the US by Fantasy Records in October 1957.
DownBeat praised the album's soothing tone, noting, in part, that "Guaraldi is serenely wistful in his interpretation of Billy Strayhorn's title song, is surely relaxed in the lightly swinging 'Softly.' He delightfully colors the impressionistic 'Yesterdays.' 'Like a Rose' is accorded a treatment almost elegiac in its poetic quietude." - Wikipedia

Ended Monday and welcomed Tuesday after a swim with Vince Guaraldi Trio the debut studio album by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi (credited to the Vince Guaraldi Trio), released in the US by Fantasy Records in September 1956.
Billboard wrote a positive review, “Altho [sic] sales are unlikely to be spectacular, this is one of the pleasant surprises of the month. Guaraldi is a young San Francisco pianist who has been getting rave notices with the Woody Herman band. Evidence here says he’s a tasteful, authoritative and facile modernist, and that he swings. Further, he has a sense of humor. Guitarist Eddie Duran and bassist Dean Reilly are worthy colleagues. Try their version of John Lewis' 'Django' for a real delight.” - Wikipedia
