If you didn't use #Qutebrowser which Firefox extension would you use for a similar experience, #Vimium or #Tridactyl and why ?

Just discovered vimium-ff add on for #firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/vimium-ff/

Exactly what I was looking for. Was already thinking about developing a plugin to let me operate #SAP S/4HANA #Fiori UI with the keyboard. But #vimium ist more or less exactly what I had in mind.

Vimium – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Download Vimium for Firefox. The Hacker's Browser. Vimium provides keyboard shortcuts for navigation and control in the spirit of Vim.

Ура, установил vimium C. Теперь удобно будет сидеть без мыши, что я в принципе и так иногда делал.

#vimium #vimiumC #KeyboardOnly

@bobulous Oh I see.
But do you use vim bindings for any other software other than editors?

I use a lot of vim bindings out of my editor. In pdf reader ( #zathura ), browser ( #qutebrowser , #vimium ) music player, etc.
I’m afraid if that will conflict with Kokoune.

And are there Kokoune bindings for popular softwares?

#linux

Because I use #Vimium to navigate the web, I've been able to set the '-ai' flag automatically on any search I make using #Google, removing the awful 'AI Overview.' As for #DuckDuckGo, thankfully there is an actual setting you can use to turn off the #AI overview.
@linuxallday #Vimium or any of its popular variations have been a complete game changer for how I interact with the web, can't recommend more strongly.

Well hello there #Vimium for  and

Oh how though will make me even less use the mouse 🤪

How much has #vimium improved my browser user experience?

It is such a drastic improvement, that it is almost bizarre that the features that vimium offer, is not "built in" to the #firefox (and other) browser(s).

Borrowing name from the text editor "vim", it can possibly seem a bit terrifying to use, the "vi" family of text editors can feel a tad "hardcore". Or rather, they are, you spend a lot of time memorizing keystrokes and configuring stuff.

With viumium, however, everything works "as before", and you just need to learn ONE keystroke to greatly reduce your dependency on the mouse.

I press "f", and vimium decorates the elements with "keystroke" tags, and I press the keystroke on the tag to hightlight / trigger the element, clicking a link.

"mouse free" experiences have generally been a "learn a massive amount of control key combinations!", but a bit creative thinking can offer a lot of the same, with minimal learning curve.
