Hells Bells - or should that be Cats' Bells?
Chas H Ross wrote his book in the 1860s, yet how little has changed when it comes to cats and humans ....

George Sand, like Rossini, apparently wrote most of her work in bed - accompanied by her cat Minou, with whom she would share her breakfast bowl.... #writers and #cat humans relate much?
“Some say that cats are devils, but they behave badly only when they are alone. When they are among us cats are angels.”
Yes? No?

Had a fun time discovering about the Brontës pets - especially the cats!
Emily had a cat called Tiger, who would sleep on her feet when she was writing, (instant kitty slippers!) & I tried creating an illustration of Emily with Tiger, based on a claimed photograph of her. Also on @thepennybloodspodcast - hop over & take a look!

The Brontës were cat lovers as well as great storytellers - Black Tom was, according to Ellen Nussey, "everybody’s favourite."
Emily painted a watercolour of the famlly dogs with her pet cat Tiger (who, being a cat, always takes centre stage in the painting, of course....)
Here's our impression of Emily with Tiger.
