The shack upgrades really made a difference to last years performance. The new Q5 transverter performed well. My only mistake was forgeting to mod my ts590sg to be able to tx on the whole vhf band hehe.

This was quite a successful #hamradio #amateurradio #amateurfunk weekend from our 86 m high local hill in #POTA park #DE0315.

I participated in the #IARU #VHF #Contest and made yesterday 50 QSOs. Today I was station sharing with @siwli and made another 15 contest QSOs. In total, I had 65 QSOs on 2m with about 15k points and reached 9 DXCCs and 31 locator squares. ODX was 658 km to F8KID.

RIG: FT-818 + homebrew PA with 40 W out and 4 ele yagi antenna.

Частота 145.500 на 2-метровом диапазоне оживает. Местный хулиган "ушел" в места не столь отдалённые и это освободило частоту. Утром включил и сразу RG2B, R2DBY, R2DRU и R3DDS на связи, несмотря на мою небольшую мощность. :)

”The evolution of the signal generator during the sixties was relatively slow. A number of reasons can be listed to explain that. First of all, a lot of signal generators, perfectly matching the market needs, were already in the Hewlett Packard catalog by the end of the fiveties. The 606, 608 and 612 were state of the art signal sources for the measurement of RF, VHF, and UHF receiver performance of the time. The 610 and 620 series covered this same requirement for the lower to higher frequencies of the microwave spectra. All these generators were using vacuum tube or Klystron master oscillator, with High Q or cavity tuning circuits, whose fundamental design gave a guarantee of low noise and high spectral purity signal output.”

Итак, Антенна Yagi Ailunce AY04 для 2м/70см. Из минусов: отверстия крепления только под вертикальную поляризацию. А значит установка на металлическую мачту не подходит. Пришлось нарастить на мачте лишние полтора метра пластиком и тогда уже ставить.

По SDR в городе Жуковском (Дмитрию спасибо за его поддержку) проверил: сначала коллинеарной UVS-200 щёлкнул, потом - этой. КСВ можно хоть обмериться, а результат хочется видеть в действии. Разница между антеннами видна хорошо. 👍

#GMA DA/SX-024 Katzsteinfels (meaning “cat stone rock”) can be combined with #POTA DE-0875 #Forststeig (one of the nicest trails in #Saxony) to get some more chasers. You can go there easily by #Deutschlandticket and leave your car at home or at the hotel. Since #hamradio wasn’t this hike’s premier task I made just 15 QSOs on #20m in #morsecode and in #fm on #vhf and up. #ParksOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #qrp #qcxmini #hiking #mountains
