Unconventional affections. Transformative thoughts. To stop and smell the roses.

Vitality and motivation often seem to go hand in hand, but presently that is not the case. There’s an overwhelming urge to pause and take things in through the senses, to move with care and caution. Yet, there remains perhaps an outer or inner pressure to accomplish big things.

Whenever or wherever there is tension, there is a need for greater integration. The answers to conflicting goals can be found both within and without. Look to those around you to see how they’re managing this conflicting tension. Are they taking their time or are they pushing through? Would taking a similar approach feel the most authentic for you or is another approach necessary?

Remember that what cannot be shown through the other can be gleaned from silent contemplation. Our own minds are much more creative and complex than we give them credit for.

Follow the whispers of thought. Allow the stream of consciousness to lead you to the resolutions you so dearly seek.

Clarifying desires. Breaking free from imagined bonds. The way forward.

Authenticity resides in the now. It’s the process of unravelling how we feel and what we feel in the present moment. It allows us to move forever onwards, towards our purpose and our destiny. The appeal resides in its ability to guide us; we are sold the idea that authenticity will concretely show us where we are supposed to go.

Of course in reality, things prove to be more difficult than they appear on the surface. Often (to me anyways) authenticity feels less like riding a steady wave, and more like getting caught in a whirling current. You have to fight hard to get back to the shore, battling sand and sea to make it out alive. Perhaps there’s even a moment where you’re content to drift off to sea. There’s a mild bliss to the idea of forever wandering the ocean depths, lost in a chorus of wandering souls.

To finally break free from the grip of the sea feels like a truly radical act. It is a radical act. It is also a simultaneous commitment to continue to break free each and every time someone tries to shame you or persuade you from being anything but yourself.

Continue to be radical. Continue to be committed.
