Spent the evening reinstalling #Ubuntu 25.10 on my 2017 #Macbook, and decided to try #Btrfs for the first time, instead of the default ext4.
Found out using manual partitioning option during setup doesn't create the typical @ and @home subvolumes, but #Gemini guided me through the additional steps post install.
Now with btrfs snapshots I'll hopefully avoid getting in the situation where I need to do another reinstall!
Also a shout-out to #Ventoy, the best way to boot ISOs from a USB drive.
lol, I just deleted the kernel and forgot to show the bootloader the other kernel.
Guess who couldn't boot their system ...
With #ventoy and a live image I could at least resolve the issue by reinstalling the linux-zen package

This is my humble attempt on having a stateless/immutable #Debian system.
There are compromises, disadvantages and advantages.
- OS is one single minimal file (live ISO) with persistence for /home only.
- Update OS copying new iso on #Ventoy being able to return to previous states.
- #Distrobox + #Appimage for daily applications.
@yura @AngelaScholder @dps910 @wboss Yet another reason to install #TinyCoreLinux or #BunselnLabsLinux on an external USB falshdrive, like a Verbatim Store'n'Stay or SanDisk Cruzer Fit.
#Ventoy supports #SecureBoot when setup with it in mind and resetting the #UEFI by popping the battery for a minute will usually do the trick.
J'ai appris à pas mal utiliser la commande "dd if=xxxxw of=xxwww", et ça ouvre des aspects intéressants, notamment pouvoir créer un fichier .iso ou .dat et l'utiliser comme un disque dur (conservation du système de fichier interne). Faut que je creuse.
#Ventoy se révèle un outil bien puissant, notamment sur un hdd en sata avec une interface usb3 (le temps de charg. est très correct)La gestion des persistances est bonne, mais la limite des 4Go des dossier .dat cest pas ouf. On peut en ajouter plusieurs, donc pouvoir paramétrer la même distro en plusieurs versions.
