With thousands of deaths occurring worldwide from cobras every year, costly antivenoms are currently the only solution to helping snakebite victims – and they don't prevent tissue damage that occurs for those who survive.

However, a team of researchers from University of Sydney has discovered cheap, readily available blood-thinning medications can be repurposed as antidotes for these venoms.
