Koleje Niemieckie (DB) chcą obsługiwać składami dużych prędkości ICE 3neo (Siemens Velaro) pociągi m. in. do Polski oraz Francji. W tym celu do 32 tych EZT zostanie zmodyfikowanych technicznie. Przewoźnik zlecił to zadanie ich producentowi – Siemens Mobility. Trwają testy jednego z egzemplarzy na torze doświadczalnym Instytutu Kolejnictwa w Żmigrodzie.
