I splurged on making it pretty with decorative shelf brackets. Just means it'll take a couple more crops to pay for itself.

Next up will be staining and assembling.

Yesterday's panic mode: get these badly sprouted potatoes planted..

It was supposed to rain all today, so I went nuts hacking away 2 years of neglected garden to clear some ground, and dig it up.

The potatoes are in, no rain. But they're in.

My peas I leaves with you.

I love fresh peas in the garden, and I remember my dad growing mountains of them. They've been very frustrating to me, though: an entire year's worth of growth in an 8' plot only produced enough for snacking. This cultivar is meant to grow in hanging bowls, and drape over the side of the bowl. So far they're just a tangled mess. But the flowers are still pretty.

Got #chard ?

This little bed was planted back in November and I fully expected them to not survive: they looked so small and frail next to the hakurei and daikon. Instead, they've been going nuts since early March; I can't use them up fast enough. Friday I'm going to recreate an old favorite, fish fillets wrapped in chard; it requires really large leaves to work, and I have those now.
