Milos completely exceeded my expectations. I knew it was a beautiful volcanic island with surreal landscapes and beaches β like the iconic white rock formations of Sarakiniko β but what truly surprised me, in the best way, was its authenticity.
Beyond the stunning views, Milos still feels real: local towns where people go to work, kids play in parks, and life flows naturally.
At least in May, the balance between locals and tourists felt just right β especially compared to places like Santorini.
It reminded me how important it is to travel consciously β to respect the rhythm of local life, support small businesses, and preserve the beauty and integrity of the places we visit. πΏ
Have you been to Milos or is it on your list? Let me know in the comments!
P.S. The food in the last photo is from Hanabi, a seaside sushi bar in the town of Apollonia. Itβs a lovely spot β and they have a separate vegan menu! π±
