Joan Baez, Vol. 2 is the second studio album by Joan Baez. Released in 1961, the album, like her self-titled 1960 debut album, featured mostly traditional songs.

In his AllMusic review, music critic Matt Fink wrote of the album:

The material chosen is truly exceptional... Without a doubt, Baez's version of 'Pal of Mine' is every bit as vibrant as when the Carters recorded it, though here given a more bluegrass sound by the banjo and backup vocal accompaniment of the Greenbriar Boys. Baez is a true master of her craft, and though she hasn't always made the best choices for material, the 14 interpretations here are as timeless as the songs themselves... this is an album that all fans of traditional folk music should seek out. - Wikipedia

Requia is the eighth album by American fingerstyle guitarist and composer John Fahey. Released in November 1967, it was the first of Fahey's two releases on the Vanguard label. It originally received hostile reviews from music critics, particularly for its musique concrète experimentation.[6] It has since been recognised as precursor to new-age music...

According to Edward Pouncey of The Wire, contemporary reception to Requia was mixed and often hostile, with many puzzled by the album's lengthy musique concrète centrepiece.

Kris Needs of Record Collector has similarly cited "Requiem for Molly" as a "deranged mosaic of effects" that predated sampling with its mixture of musical interpolations and "snatches of jazz and blues singers, Nazi marching songs, wedding music, hymns, brass bands and fairground organ, as well as self-recorded seals." - Wikipedia

Violin by Oregon (with Zbigniew Seifert) released in 1978 on Vanguard Records.

Violin Review by Ron Wynn

Fine late '70s material from the acoustic band Oregon. Despite the title, it's not violin-dominated material, but their standard blend of Asian, European, African, and American elements and influences.

Ended Thursday and welcomed Friday with In Concert a live album by the American jazz group Oregon released in 1975.

In a review for AllMusic, Ron Wynn awarded the album 4 stars, writing: "A textbook live recording by Oregon... It contains their usual classical, African, and jazz elements and shows that they're more aggressive and animated in performance than in the studio. The recording is excellent and fully displays the broad range of colors, rhythms, and textures that they present. The authors of The Penguin Guide to Jazz commented: "'Silence Of A Candle' is absolutely magisterial, and even more abstract pieces... underline that what Oregon was best at was real-time improvisation... Walcott's influence on the group is even more obvious in a concert setting. There is rarely a moment when he is not shaping or reshaping the music." - Wikipedia

Odetta at Town Hall is a live album by American folk singer Odetta, recorded at Town Hall, New York, NY. At this time, Odetta was at the height of her career and performed an annual concert at the venue, typically in the month of April. It is not clear if this is her 1961 or 1962 concert performance. It could potentially be a compilation of her performances at Town Hall throughout the early 1960s. - Wikipedia

Fantasias for Guitar and Banjo is the debut album of the folk guitarist Sandy Bull, released in 1963 through Vanguard Records.
Recording

Bull recorded the album accompanied by Billy Higgins, a session jazz drummer who had previously appeared on early Ornette Coleman records.

The highlight of Fantasias for Guitar and Banjo is usually considered to be its opener "Blend", a lengthy improvisational piece. According to Bull, the ideas behind the piece originated from his admiration of Folkways Records, which documented ethnic music from across the world. He also claimed to being particularly inspired from hearing Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan in New York City.[3] "Blend" has been viewed as a "virtual travelogue of styles done in a then revolutionary modal tuning" - Wikipedia
