2/3: The Weight of Unforgiveness
I’ve seen the "weight of unforgiveness" even in high-achieving professionals. I know a person with a thriving practice and multiple degrees. All of it was made possible by her mother’s years of sacrifice, working in another province to support the family.
Yet, she treats her mother as the enemy. She holds onto years of vitriol while her mother continues to offer forgiveness.
It’s a jarring disconnect to see a "healing professional" struggle to find peace within her own foundation. She even teaches her young son to hold that same anger.
These examples remind me that healing isn't just about what we do for ourselves. It’s about the systems we are born into. When we refuse to see the sacrifice behind the struggle, the family peace breaks down. Stability starts at the roots.
