It is not often I carve spoons 🥄

A butterknife you can make as easy or difficult as you want. But spoons, at least in my opinion, are quite difficult from the start.
Practice does it of course, so maby I have to make a few more 🌲

New #utensils added to #Udupi #Krishna Matha #kitchen, #India. At least some of these are likely to be used for decades to come. 🙇‍♂️☺️

25 large spoons, 12 small spoons, 2 handmade pots. All well-crafted high-quality stainless steel. Total cost ₹6500 ($70). I think money well spent.

It’s 500 BCE, there are no forks, no spoons, no knives. Just your food, and perhaps the odd rock or shell, if you’re lucky. So, when did we start using utensils? I pick up these flatware sets whenever I see them in vintage stores because I dislike using throw away plastic utensils*. I finally made some travel cases for two of the sets so now I have a pattern established.
*(I also have too many plastic utensils because I refuse to put them in the trash and most aren't recyclable. I refuse to wash and collect more.) #leather #maker #handmade #utensils
