La edición chipirifláutica de Utena en Blu-ray incluye un montón de chorradas para poder justificar los casi 150 pavazos que cuesta. Y soy consciente de que es la manera que algunas distribuidoras como Selecta Vision han encontrado para poder ser rentables. Ok.

Pero hay un pequeño detalle que es un “deal breaker” para mí: no incluye la pista 5.1 en versión original. Más que nada porque se trata de una remasterización sonora inusualmente trabajada y repleta de detalles para una serie de 1997. Desde los diálogos pasando por los ambientes y hasta la música, todo está reposicionado en un espacio sonoro multicanal real. Hasta las canciones están separadas por instrumentos en esta nueva mezcla 5.1

I'm always wary of anything that seems to be inspired by Revolutionary Girl Utena because this was a show that came to the ultimate conclusion that "All Princes are Bastards". The answer to "But was that really such a good idea?" is: No.

It talks about the use of systems created for power and domination being inherently harmful, "revolution" is a carousel, but a lot of people can't seem to accept that, they want Utena to become a Prince, why shouldn't she if she wants to?

Now, to be fair, the Manga, Series, and Movie are all completely different. In the Manga, this exactly happens, which plays it’s themes completely straight without expecting more from the audience. This might make the Manga useful in understanding the show, but it’s also not as interesting.
