Les opérateurs ont déployé des protections avec le Mécanisme d’Authentification des Numéros (MAN), mais des appels en roaming passent à travers les mailles du filet. L’Arcep demande désormais aux opérateurs de « masquer le numéro mobile non authentifié d’un appel provenant de l’étranger ».
