It occurs to me that Trump's lunacy has served to repeatedly strip away our comfortable illusions and shine a spotlight on many uncomfortable truths.
* The US gives lip-service to everyone else's sovereignty, and completely ignores it when it causes them inconvenience.
* The US has been using its economic power to the detriment of everyone else.
* We depend far too heavily on US software, which cannot be trusted.
* We depend far too heavily on fossil fuels, particularly Middle Eastern oil.
We already knew these things, but we were ignoring them. Now we have had them shoved into our faces.

At the same time, Israel influences "those parameters in its own interests, chiefly by shaping military, political & cultural discourse in the US through the many levers available to it."
