Reports of a shooting involving a high-ranking U.S. government official in Washington, D.C.'s Navy Yard area, according to "journalist" (he is not a journalist, but a right wing influencer, thanks for @katrinakatrinka#infosec.exchange on the comment area) Nick Sortor who is on scene.

Heavily armed Capitol Police responded rapidly, and the official was extracted in an armored Chevrolet Suburban typically used for members of Congress or the Cabinet. The alleged shooter remains at large, with officers searching the area for evidence.

No official confirmation of injuries or the official's identity has been released, and details are still developing. Law enforcement has not yet issued a public statement.
