draft - Can we get Microsoft to require new windows11 laptops to have a power delivery usb4 port on each side? I still see some windows11 laptops being sold with nonstandard power cables and it would be nice if they would fully embrace USBC/USB4 for power delivery / high speed data, video out etc. maybe even start adding gpmi, unless USBC power delivery can go up to 480 watts. Why don't smart speakers have USB type C?
For example, Amazon echo and Google nest mini have proprietary barrel charger plugs.
What is the point of a proprietary barrel charger plug on a device like a small smart speaker which may be occasionally moved around? It makes much more sense to have USBC, the common connector,for power on those devices, and yet, stupidly, they have a proprietary charging port. It makes zero sense to me. Does someone care to explain this to me?

draft - tvs need usbc power delivery ports. i'll give you one very important example why. i tried plugging my tivo stream 4k into my TV directly, but it doesn't seem to be drawing enough power, because it keeps boot looping. i was wanting to plug it directly into the main family TV room. If these types of devices were powered by usbc and the tvs had proper usbc power delivery ports to power these types of devices, then it’d be quite innovative. However, as it stands, you’d have to like plug it into the wall and then people are like…”what are you doing” as opposed to just being able to plug it into the tv which is more legit.
