The #SundaySwan is helpfully showing off a colour ring - I’ve sent the details to the colour ring person identified on https://cr-birding.org/ and am curious as to what they tell me. I understand from the ring that the bird must be at least 14 years old.

Excellent day at WWT London Wetland Centre yesterday. Local moaned there “wasn’t much about” while I was thrilled by the variety showing well. So what if peewits were the only waders in evidence and while there were many other herons the bittern didn’t show? Familiarity breeds contempt I guess.
Good views of sandmartins going in and out of their holes, a little egret stirring the water to fish, and photographing a kingfisher, were highlights.
Being unable to get photos to upload from my computer is annoying, so here’s a photo of my camera showing one of the photos of a kingfisher…
