Trump has signed an executive order he claims will end the de minimis exemption for global low-cost goods.

The thing about that is the de minimis value was set by Congress.

In an effort to understand WTF is going on *waves arms around*

I've been trying to connect the dots.

So I made this graph, trying to understand the motivations, and what they’re actually trying to do, because what they really want to accomplish seems to be very different than what they say they're doing.

What they say they're doing tends to be for their voting base and for news outlets.

Also, Looking at this makes me feel like I made one of those cork-board things with pictures and strings all over it, and well I guess I did.

I'm not crazy, I promise.

Anyhow, I'm sure there's things that are wrong in here, and most of it I don’t have proof for because, well, they're not saying why they do things.

But I don't think I’m far off.
