in authoritarian countries, support for a #worldparliament is highest. people in not or partly free places seem to see it as a way to strengthen #democracy from the outside.
urban areas show much higher support compared to rural areas (surprise surprise).
young people aged 18-35 are driving this movement with the highest support. growing up with global crises, they might seek institutions that operate beyond national borders.
a new global survey reveals that 40% of respondents support the creation of a citizen-elected #worldparliament to handle global issues. only 27% are opposed, with the strongest support coming from the global south and underrepresented groups.
