The 24th major version of the Android app from Nextcloud Talk has been released and comes with UnifiedPush support! It works with @nextcloud v34+, which provides support for web push.
You can now get push notifications on your browser, even if Nextcloud is not open, and on the FOSS flavor of the app, and even on Google-free Android devices.

Nutze XMPP seit Jahren. Mittlerweile überwiegend via #Conversations, da dieser nicht nur stabile läuft und ohne Google zuverlässig benachrichtigt, sondern auch gleich ohne zusätzliche Ressourcen #UnifiedPush Dienst anbietet.
PS: jabber-germany.de ist dabei mein zuverlässiger Server seit bestimmt mehr als 10 Jahren.

The main difference for me has been that Molly supports #UnifiedPush. I don't know if Signal's use of #WebSocket is better or not.
